Thais are bumiputera

A lot of people are upset v d fact Thais r now bumiputera in Malaysia. Actually this is not a new thing, in fact Malaysia government is forced2 do this because they cannot wipe off the fact that Kelantan, Terangganu, Kedah n Perlis were part of Siam until 1909.

So yes, 100 years ago our Kedahan friends r Thai. They were called Syburi that time. And history record shows that without the approval of Siamese King, Kedah Sultan cannot claim their thrones legitimately. Some Sultans were even kicked out by Siam King, just like how British expelled the Perak Sultans when Tanah Melayu was their "protectorate".

More interestingly, when Tok Janggut, a Kelantan anti-British official was hung to death by the British, New York Times reported that Kelantan is a state of Siam. That was in 1900s.

As British growing influence in Asia Pacific and strategic invasion to Burma started threatening the sovereignty of Siam, the then only Kingdom which was kept intact, Siam King tried to dish out a treaty with the British. Hence, Anglo-Siamese treaty was sealed in 1909, whereby Siamese will give out Kedah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perlis (KTKP) to British, in return they got Chiangmai back from the Burmese.

During Japanese Occupation, KTKP were again returned to the Siamese from the British for brief three years.

In fact, today, the Kedahan (Syburi) people are allowed to purchase any kind of properties in Thailand, to the contrast of normal foreigners who are only allowed to purchase condominium.

So Malaysia, in return, must to something to the Thai who came to this land for centuries, maybe even before Najib's forefather arrived. So what they do? They give them bumi status.

In a sum, this is just a political move that Umno forced to do given that the history background that Siam kingdom is stronger than many of the Malay Sultanate in the north, and to the fact that many Malay are not the "indigenous" or "peribumi" here, they might came from Indonesia latter than the Siamese who walked here comfortably.

Anyhow, i still prefer Hindraf de facto leader Uthanyakumar stance on the issue:"any citizen of Malaysia should be given bumiputera right because even the word bumi is a Tamil word,"

So ya, let's kill Umno.
