Loyalty

From a political thriller Ides of March (2011)

"You know Paul, the first campaign I ran was a tiny little race in Kentucky, working for an old guy named Sam,"

"No money, no staff, no office. Everyone thought we didn't stand a chance,"

"No way we can compete, right?“

”And about this time, this man, from an opposite camp, told me that he totally admire what i did for Sam. But let's face it, he's a goner, he's not going to win it. So come work for me,"

"What did I do?"

"Well, Steven, that's where you and i are different. I told Sam about the meeting. And these is what Sam says to me, if you think this other guy got a chance of winning. And if you feel he can pay u more than anything that i afford, you feel this is what you gonna do, I won't stand in your way,"

"And i told Sam, you took a chance to hire me when I was even more of a nobody than you are,"

"And if I'm damned, I gonna jump ship, let the ship hits the fan,"

"We lose that race. But three years later, when Sam decided to run for governor. Who do u think he remember?"

"We won. and 20 years later, I am what i am, the fucking now,"

"That's always one thing I value in this world, that is, loyalty,"

"Without it, you are nothing! you are nothing!!"
